The pipa is a famous ancient instrument found in the hands of heavenly maidens—such images can be seen in the cave murals found along the Silk Road. Playing pipa can improve hand-eye coordination as well as hand dexterity and audio perception.
This expressive Chinese instrument helps students learn traditional Chinese culture. The pipa’s captivating ancient melodies are connected to beautiful legends and intriguing stories rooted in 5,000 years of Chinese civilization. The pipa’s measurements represent the three powers—heaven, earth, and man—and the five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. Its four strings represent the four seasons.
